about
The alternative electro-pop music of Smuggle In The Strange takes us back to the 80's revisited by the fact that the synthesizers have been exploited to adapt them to the taste of the day, the 2020's. The lyrics were conceived following the method called "cut up", often used by Jim Morrison or David Bowie (among others).
Major Kami started by printing David Bowie's biography on his website, as well as numerous album and single reviews.
Smuggle in the Strange is the end result. The opening lines sum up what the singer and songwriter felt while working on this project: "The story of a life".
Major Kami says: "It was fun to create a story that you can relate to in many ways.
lyrics
Here we are again
Spying through a keyhole
One false move
Down a rabbit hole
Sit back
Buckle up tight
Enjoy the ride
This is the story of a lifetime
Switched off the solo star spotlight
An unqualified triumph
Switched off the solo star spotlight
Refusing to cater
Heart's filthy lesson
Of delicious conceit
A distorted mirror that renders
You switched off the solo star spotlight
Refusing to cater
Twinkle little star
Pulling at my heart
Ashes to ashes
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Emotive and cryptic
Emotive and cryptic
Emotive and cryptic
Surrealy misplaced
In a pastoral setting
The iron curtain still firmly divides
How much sugar is needed
To smuggle in the strange?
Light years a head
Of anyone else
Chasing scary monsters and super creeps
Switched off the solo star spotlight
Still refusing to cater
And here we are again
Spying through a keyhole
One false move and down the rabbit hole
Refusing to cater
Twinkle little star
Pulling at my heart
Ashes to ashes
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Emotive and cryptic
Emotive and cryptic
Surrealy misplaced
In a pastoral setting
The iron curtain still firmly divides
Emotive and cryptic
Emotive and cryptic
Surrealy misplaced
In a pastoral setting
The iron curtain still firmly divides
The iron curtain still firmly divides
